I think it was a good idea to limit the novels into films for the past 20 years - yes, the library clients should be familiar with many, if not all, the titles. I like this opportunity of offering suggestions of further inclusions, as well as the opportunity to offer constructive input on any of the blogs.
Thank you, Juliet. My inspiration for this topic was my husband. He loves watching movies, but wouldn't read anything, not even the shopping list! I thought using the movies he likes (the most recent ones) and relating them to the books, could have some impact. He's still not reading, but I could see a hint of an interest :) I think this might be the case of other people as well. Hope it works!
Liana 1/11/2013 Seems novel to film is a good topic! I'm a film nut and I think that the best films have started life as a novel or a play, primarily because these writers know their craft so well.
I agree, Liana. Though sometimes the movie works better than the book for me, mostly with those genres that I don't enjoy reading, like fantasy and science fiction.
Great topic! I haven't heard of the Stephen King novel you mentioned in your list, but he's written so many books, I think I can be forgiven. He's so prolific and so many books have been made into great films, it would be hard to choose my favourite! Maybe a toss-up between "Carrie" and "Misery".

A fabulous topic Laura! I too have a husband who does not read novels, reads everything else but novels!
